Testing The Snowshoes

Published by at 6:14 pm under Expeditions and Experiences

Tested my snowshoes yesterday. They worked fine, but as I had anticipated, they had a tendency for falling off. That can probably be easily remedied by strapping a piece of string through the loops. I have seen that way of attaching the shoes on some snowshoes I have at home.

Also had a go at a red squirrel, missed by a few inches regretfully, but traps will be up within a few days. The trushes and waxwings are out feeding on the rowans now. Would have been an excellent opportunity for setting some snares…

    Hi Torjus,
This article is awesome! I’m also a huge fan of outdoors, primitive and survival skills.
I live in Romania, a lot of great places here to practice those skills though not many people fond of it (unfortunately).
Keep up the good work, I enjoyed reading this a lot!
    Best wishes,
    Florin Ular

    Hi Florin

Good thing that you like my blog. Sounds like you have the same problem as me. I don’t know of any other Norwegians even remotely interested in this stuff.

I couldn’t access your profile, do you have a blog?
