Life in the tipi

Published by at 5:10 pm under Expeditions and Experiences

Today I have tanned (braintan) the fox skin. My brother (photo) has shot three black grouse and we are having one for dinner. Yummy. Later I’ll go fishing spawning trout. Weather is shit, spirit is good. I can read the comments on wap. Thanks. And the shelter is a tipi. I starting to feel that my gear is too heavy because of it though.

Where is the mountains are you? Do you only live in the woods these days, or do you stay at home as well. Are Arne and Laje joining you on the project?
If so, send my greetings. Looking forward to more pictures..

Hope the weather improves for you. Sounds like you’ve got a better dinner than the pizza I’ve got waiting for me!

    Hey T,

good to hear from you. Fantastic this WAP on your mobile!
Modern technics might be helpfull in certain circumstances I guess.
A Tipi is nice but with bad weather (storm) not the best place to stay in for 3 weeks I guess. I hope you may have godo weather, dry and mild.

I guess the question of the weight of your gear is an important issue. Depends also on how long you plan to stay out, and if you plan to move around or keep a base-camp on one location. Just saw some Ray Mears show again today, and he outlined how handy a mule or horse can be on such travels… Might be an idea.

    Take care, stay warm!

Glad you are o’k. We only learn by doing, and now you can begin to see what you need and do not need. You are eating well, and the weather is what it is. Enjoy. These are the best times of living. Take care, Michael.
