Daily Posting

Published by at 10:13 pm under Expeditions and Experiences

Finally I have scrambled together the funds to follow Survival Acres’ advice of buying a blackberry. So from now on you can expect daily posting. As I told you before, my objectives have shifted towards food and material independence rather than primitive solitude. Don’t get me wrong, I will still live outside, but I will be more flexible in terms of location and methods used in my daily life.

This investment is costing me a lot of money, so if you happen to enjoy what I write, I hope you will donate me a small sum.

The picture below is of snow gogles, of great importance in the mountains on the spring snow. The background is a beaver skin, skinned native style and nailed on an old door for drying.

Here is a photo of the beaver when it had just been shot, about a week ago.

    Hey Torjus,

great idea, dayly postings – look forward to read your endeavours
hows the plan going for that earthlodge of yours
I hope you will tell us some more about that too
    you write:
“my objectives have shifted towards food and material independence
    rather than primitive solitude”
maybe you can elaborate on that what you mean and have planned

    take care!

I will post photos of the earth lodge in progress when I can get across the lake again. The plan is to finish it on this year’s Veidemann course.

When it comes to my objectives I am deliberately vague. But think of it like this: I will spend less time on my own, less time using stone tools and more time improving my skills in getting food (in particular).
